In light of the latest political developments in Latin America,
members of the National Mobilization Against Sweatshops (NMASS)
will present a film and lead a discussion about a couple of examples
of organizing taking place across the continent. The film (2006/66
min) documents community organizing in Venezuela during this period
of the Bolivarian Revolution. The director, Jennifer Wager, will
be there for a Q&A session. The film will be followed by a short
video (15 min) and a presentation by Vicente Mayorga, from the Frente
Unido de Inmigrantes Ecuatorianos, about the current demonstrations
of teachers and indigenous people in Ecuador.
Jennifer and Vicente are hosting this benefit event for the National
Mobilization Against Sweatshops (NMASS).
Suggested donation is $10, but you are welcome to be more generous.

Jennifer Wager is a grassroots filmmaker and educator, and a Board
member of NMASS.
Vicente Mayorga is the president of the Frente Unido de Inmigrantes
Ecuatorianos and a long time NMASS member.
