Garment Workers Win Again!
LATINA & CHINESE WOMEN LEAD FIGHT TO HOLD MANUFACTURERS ACCOUNTABLE

 

In December 2003, a group of 14 factory workers - 13 Latinos and one Chinese -- won a settlement totaling over $175,00 in unpaid wages and unpaid overtime from clothing manufacturers Jenna Lane. The workers organized across language barriers and came together to hold the two companies responsible for the sweatshop conditions present at the Brooklyn factory to which the garment work was subcontracted.
