In December 2003, a group of 14 factory workers
- 13 Latinos and one Chinese -- won a settlement totaling over
$175,00 in unpaid wages and unpaid overtime from clothing manufacturers
Jenna Lane. The workers organized across language barriers and
came together to hold the two companies responsible for the sweatshop
conditions present at the Brooklyn factory to which the garment
work was subcontracted.
