King Chef Restaurant Workers
Fight Back |
Boycott King Chef Restaurant located at Ramapo Plaza Hamburg Turnpike in Wayne, New
Jersey!
We are a group of former workers for King Chef Buffet:
We were threatened and fired after protesting the
ILLEGAL and ABUSIVE working conditions at King Chef.
We were forced to work 13 HOUR DAYS, 6 DAYS A WEEK and
were threatened with being fired if we refused.
We were paid NO WAGES and NO OVERTIME COMPENSATION, only
tips.
We had to PAY $18 A DAY out of our tips TO KEEP OUR JOBS.
Management:
STEALS TIPS by demanding payments and imposing ILLEGAL FINES;
DISCRIMINATES against women and Fuzhounese workers by calling us "PIGS," "STUPID," and "DESPICABLE" and by FIRING workers based on gender and
ethnicity;
Forces workers to live in UNSAFE HOUSING, sometimes without electricity;
Gives workers FAKE W-2 FORMS to cheat the government and the workers.
NOW WE ARE FIGHTING BACK!!
OUR DEMANDS:
- OUR WAGES MUST BE PAID NOW!
- COMPENSATION FOR PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HARM!
- AN END TO TIP STEALING AND CHEATING ON TAXES!
- AN END TO GENDER AND ETHNIC DISCRIMINATION!
- STOP TREATING WORKERS LIKE SLAVES!
- THE IRS MUST INVESTIGATE KING CHEF MANAGEMENT FOR TAX FRAUD!
- THE GOVERNMENT MUST ENFORCE AND IMPROVE LABOR LAWS!
JOIN THE FIGHT!
- BOYCOTT KING CHEF BUFFET and OTHER restaurants that engage in these practices.
- CALL YOUR ELECTED OFFICIALS. Nonpayment of wages is a CRIME and should be a felony in New Jersey with a
stiff penalty instead of a small fine.
- JOIN THE "JUSTICE WILL BE SERVED!" CAMPAIGN by calling
