- Forced Delivery Workers to Work 60 Hours a Week without Overtime
Pay
- Cheated Workers of Minimum Wage and Overtime Pay
- Retaliated Against the Workers When They Complained
Domino's Pizza stores owned by Dave Melton forced us delivery workers
to work as many as 60 hours per week and paid us for only 45 hours,
cheating them of 15 hours of overtime pay a week. The boss also
paid them as little as $4.40 an hour, a rate for tip-receiving delivery
workers, while the workers worked many hours cleaning and preparing
food, for which they received no tips--this kind of work should
be paid at the normal minimum wage of $7.25/hour.
When workers at Melton's Domino's franchises stood up for their
rights, the boss retaliated against them, firing them or cutting
their work hours
Now these workers are filing a class action lawsuit against Melton
and his Domino's franchises. They are seeking unpaid wages and damages
for being retaliated against for complaining about the illegal practices.
They are demanding the boss reinstate them to their jobs.
While large corporations such as Domino's Pizza and greedy bosses
like Dave Melton reap greater profits during this economic crisis,
working people are either working longer hours for slave wages or
losing their jobs. We are coming together to demand more control
over our work and our lives!
We call on you to join the Domino's Pizza delivery workers in
calling for control of our work conditions and demand that Dave
Melton & Domino's Pizza:
1) Pay the Owed Wages and Damages
2) Reinstate the Workers Immediately and Stop the Retaliation Immediately
3) Obey the Labor Law and Improve Work Conditions
